A balanced diet is one that gives the body, nutrition it needs to function properly. In order to get truly balanced nutrition, the majority of your daily calories should be obtained from fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins and diet intake. A balanced diet is important because your body’s organs and tissues need proper nutrition to work effectively.
